After the Globe Restaurant was destroyed by fire in December 1983, the family rebuilt and the New Globe Restaurant opened on Athol Street in May 1985.
Around 2018, the restaurant was no longer operating as the New Globe Restaurant, and new signage was added to the business, advertising the Fortune Palace. By 2020, that restaurant closed and has since been the operation hub for Portly Event Catering.
