Oshawa Islamic Centre

1970s-present

The Islamic Centre of Oshawa was established in the 1970s as one of Ontario’s first Masaajids (mosque) in Ontario. The current building was opened in 2012 and is Oshawa’s first purpose-built mosque. The Islamic Centre of Oshawa is open all year round, offering the various daily prayers and ceremonies, Quran classes, and education events. They are a long standing participant in the popular event, Doors Open Oshawa.

    The mosque is well worth visiting during Doors Open. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and it is a beautiful building.
